Those are sweet. I have several around for various things. And bought a couple extra when I found a good deal. Two things I seldom throw away are appliance cords and wall worts.
I would think degrees Canadian would have been cheaper though.

I thought about wiring this into my food fridge direct but figured it was on its last legs anyway(bought in 1993) and I can use this one on anything.I did see that STCs are now available in Fahrenheit(God that's hard to spell!) that heat or cool but they are ~$19 with shipping. I don't really mind the Canadian conversion charts to save a few bones. Those are sweet. I have several around for various things. And bought a couple extra when I found a good deal. It's easy to set up.I use a andrunio pro mini knock off that I got for 6 bucks. You will need a soldering iron and breadboard wire.If you want I can find all of the links to my stuff and post them. The only zinger in the whole shebang is making sure you have the correct stc1000-not all them can be flashed.

You have to open it up it's not hard at all.
1: Take the protective terminal cover off in back and remove the probe
2: peel back or slice to separate the sticker from the purple lens and gray cover
3:gently lift the purple tabs and separate the purple lens cover from the gray case. tabs are on the side of the grey case.I use a small flat head screwdriver
4: pull out circuit board and check for ver 1.0 in the lower right hand corner

Here ya go. The "Belgium Ale" thing is an inside joke we have about the people who can't brew for crap and also don't know it's "Belgian". Everything they brew that has flaws is labeled a "Belgium"chil - can you post a link to that chart with the conversions on it? I'd like to put a copy on my chest freezer.

Looks like all you need to remember is 10dC to ferment lager, 15dC to cold ferement ale and 20 for top side ale. No need for a chart... or maybe just a 3 point chart!

Ok, on a serious note here. What are you guys using for the housing for these things? Radio Shack is gone, any good alternatives?
