That's pretty cool, but can they still actually call it beer? It has gone through the process of freeze distilation, so I would say no. I bet it tastes fantastic though, whatever it is!

Brewdog is an awesome brewery and are really changing the way beer is seen in the UK. They did a collaboration with Cambridge Brewing and Stone a while back for Juxtaposition, a Hoppy Black Pilsener. I've had their Imperial Stout on cask as well as some others.

Just realize that with the conversion you will pay out the ass for these. I've been thinking about ordering two bottles and having them shipped to a mate over there. $65 to ship two bottles to the US is crazy.

Kinda feels like cheating to call it the strongest beer ever. Boston Beer put a lot of effort into getting 27% (or, whatever) using fermentation alone. Anyone can freeze distill and get 32% or more.

I agree but SA can still claim strongest fully fermented beer or something. If you haven't had any Brewdog stuff check them out, they brew excellent beer. The Punk IPA is readily available on draft and a few others can be had in bottles, including an impy stout aged in 40 year old Glen Grant barrels.

James Spencer (Basic Brewing dude) talked to some gummint folks (at the TTB? I disremember.) on this and was told it's perfectly okay. (Usual homebrew caveats apply - e.g. "don't sell the stuff".)
